DELTACADEMY Plot Summary

In a dystopian future, years of chaos have finally given way to peace. Not surprisingly, maintaining that peace has become the highest priority for the people. The leader of the new governing body, is Cain Geronto, an extremely rich businessman. In a public speech, Geranto warns them that lasting peace can only be achieved if every person commits to preserving it. This includes passing on that commitment to their children and all future generations.

To demonstrate his commitment, he proposes his Peace Through Education Initiative. The proposal calls for a uniform education system where all children, starting from the earliest age, are educated in state-run schools that teach the importance of preserving peace and unquestioningly loyal to those who maintain it. Seeking the public’s trust and support for his initiative, he announced that as a gift and reward for the people's dedication to peace, he personally would completely fund the program, making education for all children free. Geronto wasted no time putting his plan into action, and so every child, upon reaching school age, is now turned over to the state and enrolled in one of the government-run learning facilities known as the Zero Institutes. The children remain at the Institute for the entirety of their education.

There were those who resisted, and hid their children from the government, but most people complied with the mandate, trusting they were doing their part to secure a peaceful future.

From the outside, the Institutes look like pleasant, well-organized boarding schools, but beyond their locked gates, the children are subjected to constant indoctrination under the Institute motto “Behave, Believe, Belong.” to turn them into loyal, fanatical followers of Cain Geronto, unaware of his true plan to seize control of the future.

The institutes are horrible, unfriendly places, and many students try to escape their cruelty, but few are successful. But when [the player] you succeed in escaping, you keep to the woods where you come across the Deltacademy.  You discover the Academy is a safe haven for runaways and escapees, overseen by retired scientist Albin Belle and his assistant, Lauren Cybele. But the Deltacademy is more than just a school. It is home to a group of young revolutionaries with some unusual abilities, who are secretly preparing to destroy the Institutes and take down the man behind them. Like them, you too would like nothing more than to see end of Geronto’s regime, but is it worth risking everything to try?
